Description Danilo Pianini 2009-11-06 13:52:31 UTC
danysk@desktopcesena ~/Desktop $ nwn /opt/nwn/nwn: line 63: 6664 Segmentation fault ./nwmain $@ Up to date Sabayon 5G 64.
Comment 1 Fabio Erculiani 2009-11-28 16:52:59 UTC
Can you at least provide more info? For example "dmesg", "lspci", opengl status (glxinfo) and perhaps, run it inside gdb and paste the stacktrace (bt full). Once you provide more info, reopen.
Comment 2 Danilo Pianini 2009-11-28 17:30:28 UTC
lspci: http://www.sabayonlinux.org/pastie/2404 dmesg: http://www.sabayonlinux.org/pastie/2405 running inside gdb is difficult because it starts after two scripts...
Comment 3 Danilo Pianini 2009-11-28 17:32:24 UTC
Sorry, i forgot glxinfo: http://www.sabayonlinux.org/pastie/2406
Comment 4 Joost Ruis 2010-03-15 11:50:21 UTC
A revision of this will hit Entropy today.
Comment 5 Danilo Pianini 2010-03-15 16:04:21 UTC
Bug still stands danysk@DanyDesktopCesena ~ $ nwn /opt/nwn/nwn: line 63: 13718 Segmentation fault ./nwmain $@ Do you need new dmesg, lspci and glxinfo?
Comment 6 Joost Ruis 2010-03-15 16:12:38 UTC
Then the problem must be upstream. Not going to debug this myself. I'll assign this to Fabio and he should decide if we should remove/fix this.
Comment 7 Joost Ruis 2010-03-23 11:44:26 UTC
Recently I also bumped games-rpg/nwn-data Can you check if you got it installed and maybe try to reinstall it all to be sure?
Comment 8 Danilo Pianini 2010-03-24 22:20:25 UTC
Yes: danysk@DanyDesktopCesena ~ $ nwn /opt/nwn/nwn: line 63: 8044 Segmentation fault ./nwmain $@ The error still stands.
Comment 9 Fabio Erculiani 2010-09-01 15:16:26 UTC
Danilo, could you attach the output of "strace nwn" or perhaps try to load nwn in gdb (you probably need to recompile it using CFLAGS="-g" (or -ggdb -O1) FEATURES="debug").
Comment 10 Fabio Erculiani 2010-09-01 21:18:51 UTC
Cannot debug, cannot find a real solution, upstream is dead and no sources are available. Joost: Maybe drop it from amd64?
Comment 12 Danilo Pianini 2010-09-03 14:58:28 UTC
I am now reinstalling it through emerge with the flags you suggested. However, I agree with Fabio: if we are not able to provide a working package we should remove it.
Comment 13 Danilo Pianini 2010-09-03 15:40:58 UTC
I'm having problems running it in gdb. I actually never used it, so can you please tell me which commands should I use? Thanks.
Comment 14 Fabio Erculiani 2010-09-03 18:32:10 UTC
Give up. nwn removed.
